Game 5: Franklin & Marshall (2-2, 1-2 CC) at Dickinson (1-3, 1-2 CC)
600: With F&M's win over Juniata last week, the Diplomats enter the week with a 599-478-47 all-time record and are one win shy of becoming the eighth Division III institution to amass 600 victories.
Series History: Saturday will mark the 106th meeting between these two teams and is the longest rivalry in the Centennial Conference. The series started in Carlisle on Oct. 30, 1889, with a 10-0 Dickinson win and teams gathered again on Nov. 28th of that year, with F&M posting a 22-0 shutout. The Diplomats lead the series 62-40-3, including victories in the last two meetings.
The Wagon: Since 1963, the F&M Diplomats and Dickinson Red Devils have played for a model of the wagon that transported both teams to play each other in the two 1889 meetings. A gift of F&M Athletic Director J. Shober Barr and Dickinson A.D. Dave Eavenson, the trophy is meant to symbolize the friendly gridiron rivalry between the two institutions. F&M holds a 26-22 advantage since the inception of the trophy game, including an 18-year victory streak from 1970 until 1987.
The Last Meeting: Franklin & Marshall jumped out to an early 14-point lead and never trailed en route to a 35-14 win over Dickinson on Oct. 5, 2013.
The offensive line led by Ryan Ignatovig, Chad Tothero, Matthew Pisarcik, Sam Dickinson and Frank Seitz paved the way for 121 yards on the ground and did not allow a sack the entire contest.
E.J. Schneider completed 25-of-36 passes for 276 yards and two scores and racked up another 56 on the ground.
A.J. Kolen had 34 rushing yards on six touches and Scott LaValva totaled 28 yards on 11 rushes.
Tim Muller had a game-high 109 yards with seven catches and a score while Paul McGann finished with 80 yards on eight grabs. Zackery hauled in six passes for 58 yards and a score and added 163 yards (84 kr, 79 pr) on returns.
Brendan Wengerter went over the double-digit mark in tackles for the fourth time this season with a game-high 17 tackles (9s). The senior finished with half a sack and 1.5 tackles for a loss. Ryan Young had 11 stops (7s), one went for a loss and John Stark also reached double-digits with 10 stops.
Troy Harrison had 1.5 sacks and finished with nine tackles while DeStefano and Tre Henderson each finished with an interception.
