Competition was even through the opening 45 minutes of action with the shot count knotted up at 8-8 heading into the break. The Diplomats controlled play in the second stanza, outshooting the Red Devils by an 11-3 margin, but were unable to light the scoreboard.
F&M outshot Dickinson 5-0 in the overtime periods, with four of the shots coming in the first frame. With just 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime, a Red Devils' corner was lofted into the box, however a Diplomats' defender managed to preserve the tie by heading the ball out of danger.
Sam Lane paced the offense with six shots, followed by four from Chase TenBrook and three from Jared Bomba. F&M held the edge for the game at 24-11, while also leading on corners at 9-5.

The Diplomats will host next week's CC Tournament for the first time since 2007 and enter play with a 13-game unbeaten streak at Tylus Field, a mark that dates back to Oct. 2, 2013.
