NEWARK, De. – Several Diplomats turned in top performances at the Delaware Open on Saturday in Franklin & Marshall women's track and field action. The Open featured several Division I schools, as well as many Division III teams.
Among Division III opponents, Olivia Bendit placed ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.70 and finished 11th in the 200-meter dash at 28.15. In the 400-meter dash, Samantha Greenberg earned a fourth-place spot for the Diplomats with a time of 1:03.17, while Victoria Ngo finished seventh at 1:07.05.
Rebecca Swisher reset her F&M pole vault record with a new vault of 12'-01.50" and was first among both Division I and Division III competitors.
In the 800-meter run, Kimberly Hilfrank finished in eighth place at 2:32.42, while Mallory Reed placed 10th at 2:37.20. Reed won another event, in 1500-meter run, with a time of 4:58.99, six seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Maya Jackson won the discus throw with a distance of 109'-06" and placed second in the javelin throw at 127'-03". Livia Meneghin took second in the shot put with a throw of 35'-04.00" and third in the discus throw at 95'-03".
The Diplomats are back in action this weekend at the Widener University Invitational with the 5K and 10K on Friday and the remainder of the events on Saturday.
