Gray Wins Silver at CC Championships

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Morgan Gray won a silver medal in the triple jump to lead the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team on the final day of the 2014 Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. The Diplomats finished eighth with 41 points, while Johns Hopkins was the winner with 225.50, followed by Dickinson (126.50) and Swarthmore (104). 

Gray's jump of 35'-10.50" landed her with a second-place spot and the silver medal. Gettysburg's Kaitlin McCoubrie came with the top spot with a distance of 36'-05.50".

In the shot put, Maya Jackson earned points for F&M with fifth-place finish throw of 40'-11.50" which broke F&M's record previously held by Alyssa Catalano '09. Jackson added a fourth-place showing in the javelin with a distance of 127'-08".

Olivia Bendit also earned points for the Diplomats with a 12th-place showing in the 400-meter dash (1:01.92).

Several Diplomats will compete at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on May 12, while others will participate at the ECAC Championships hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on May 15 and 16.
