MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The No. 13 Franklin & Marshall women's squash team went 1-1 at day two of the Middlebury Round Robin, taking down No. 18 Hamilton by an 8-1 tally on Sunday morning, before falling to No. 16 Middlebury by a 7-2 mark later in the day.

The Diplomats went 4-1 over the course of two days and now sit with an 8-6 record on the season.

Against Hamilton (8-4), F&M rolled with five sweeps in the contest. Sherilyn Yang was impressive from the No. 1 spot in the order, downing her opponent in straight games at 11-6, 11-4, 11-7, while Lauren Johnston (No. 2) earned a clutch 11-7 game-five win to take the 3-2 decision.

Emily Caldwell (No. 3), Dulakshi Elikewela (No. 4) and Andreina Benedith (No. 5) all handled their opponent in three-game sweeps, while Kate O'Brien fought back from an early 1-0 hole to take three straight for the 3-2 win (13-15, 11-9, 11-5, 11-6).

Following a marathon 16-14 win in her first game, Cris Margaret Frias Gonzalez settled in and downed her opponent by 11-4, 11-1 tallies for the sweep at No. 8. Krista Lancione (No. 9) also anchored the bottom of the lineup, outlasting her opponent by a 3-2 score (11-6, 11-9, 10-12, 6-11, 11-7).

Later in the ay against Middlebury (10-4), the Diplomats registered a pair of victories and competed hard throughout the lineup, but were unable to overcome the host school. Fiona Murphy was solid at the No. 2 position with the 3-1 win (7-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-4), while Caldwell cruised at No. 4 with the 3-0 sweep (12-10, 12-10, 11-9).

Just two regular-season matches remain on F&M's schedule, including the final home contest of the year, when the Diplomats return to the court against St. Lawrence on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
