Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Susquehanna put together a 12-4 run to open the second half, pulling away from Franklin & Marshall en route to a 64-43 victory in women's basketball action on Wednesday night. The loss dropped the Diplomats to 1-9, while the Crusaders moved to 8-2 with the win.
An early bucket from Sarah Haddon opened a tight first quarter that remained close at 11-7 with 2:33 left in the period. However, Susquehanna sank a pair of threes to end the quarter and take a 17-7 advantage after one.
Action remained tense in the second, with the Diplomats trailing by just nine, 26-17, after an AnnMarie DiCarlo layup with 2:08 left. The Crusaders again got two late buckets, taking a 30-17 lead into halftime.
The second half opened with a 12-4 Susquehanna run on the back of six points from Sofie Schedler, extending a 42-21 lead with 6:33 left in the quarter. The Crusaders extended the lead to 22 after three, coasting to a 64-43 victory.
Haddon led the Diplomats with 12 points, completing her double-double with 13 rebounds. Erica Brown followed with 10 points.
Sofie Schedler paced Susquehanna with 11 points, while Angie Schedler and Courtney Adams both posted 10.
