Swisher Resets School Mark

ITHACA, N.Y. – Franklin & Marshall competed at the Marc Deneault Memorial Invitational hosted by Cornell on Saturday afternoon. The invite featured schools from all three divisions and was a non-team scoring event. 

Rebecca Swisher reset her own school record in the pole vault. Swisher had the top height of the DIII participants at 12'-5.5" while Eve Bishop from Cornell won the event at 12'-9.5". Livia Meneghin tossed for 40' in the shot put and placed sixth out of 20 throwers in the event.

Evan Friend improved his own school record in the 200 with a second-place finish. Friend crossed in 22.22, just shy of Melique Garcia from Cortland St. who took first in 22.02. Brad Krell ran a 52.20 in the 400 and placed fourth out of 27 runners while Michael Hoffman turned in a top-time in the conference in 60-meter hurdles with an eighth place finish in 8.56.

The 4x400 relay team of Krell, Leo Generali, George Pekeshe and Friend took third in 3:29 while Logan Lewis and Vincent Acosta took fifth and sixth in the shot put with throws of 45'-8.5" and 44'-11" respectively.

F&M returns to action next weekend at the two-day Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Haverford on Saturday and Sunday.
