PRINCETON, N.J. – Three members of the Franklin & Marshall women's squash team began competition at day one of the Collegiate Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships at Princeton University on Friday.

The first Diplomat in head coach Gavin Jones' tenure to compete in the Ramsay Division (Women's A Draw), Sherilyn Yang was dealt a difficult opponent in the opening round, Princeton's Olivia Fletcher (No. 4). Fletcher proved too tough to overcome, handing Yang (No. 29) a 3-0 sweep (11-0, 11-3, 11-1). F&M's No. 1 player returned to the court in the consolation round, but saw her historic season come to an end after being forced to retire with a 4-0 lead in the third, after a pair of 11-7 losses in the first two games.

Dulakshi Elikewela (No. 64) and Lauren Johnston (No. 70) each participated in the Holleran Division (Women's B Draw) for the Diplomats. Elikewela began action with a dominant 3-0 sweep (11-5, 11-2, 11-2) in the opening round against No. 69 Allison Shilling of Mount Holyoke. However, in the round of 32, Trinity's Salma El Defrawy sent her into the consolation bracket with 3-0 sweep (11-5, 11-2, 11-2). Elikewela will return to competition tomorrow at 10:30 a.m., facing off against Princeton's Gabriella Gar in the Second Round Consolations.

Johnston fought hard in her round of 64 matchup but came up short in a 3-1 loss (11-6, 11-1, 10-12, 11-3) to Yale's Selena Maity (No. 60). F&M's impressive freshman saw her first-year campaign come to an end in consolations, dropping a 3-1 match (12-10, 12-10, 9-11, 11-5) against Williams' Nicole Feshbach.
