LANCASTER, Pa. – Twelve different Franklin & Marshall men's swimmers qualified for 17 spots in Saturday night's finals at the F&M Invitational, giving the Diplomats 493 total points and the fourth-place spot heading into Sunday. Delaware leads the team rankings with 884 points.

Timothy Gould posted the highest F&M finish in the day of the only event that saw two Diplomats appear in the A final, the 100-yard backstroke. Gould took bronze after touching the wall in 53.75, while Jack Currie earned seventh with a time of 54.29. Maxwell Lyons took 16^th in the event. Gould also competed in the B final of the 50-yard freestyle, taking 15^th overall with a mark of 22.19.

Eric Lang appeared in an A final of his own, clocking a time of 4:21.84 in the 400-yard IM to take eighth place overall and earn 22 points. Jonathan Sinton followed him in 10^th place, while Maxwell Lyons took 17^th.

Eric Dietrich-Peterson was the only Diplomat to appear in a pair of A finals, with his best performance coming in the 100-yard butterfly where his time of 51.35 was good for fourth place. He was followed by Daniel Sanders in 18^th and Cody Kalinowski in 21^st in the event.

Dietrich-Peterson led another host of F&M competitors in the finals of the 50 free, marking a time of 22.07 to take eighth place. Sanders followed in 17^th, while Keith Kamons slid into 19^th.

Ryan Caffrey and Richard Perry also added strong performances for the Diplomats, beginning with Caffrey's 14^th place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.99). Perry finished 14^th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.02), and was followed by Reeves Connolly in 22^nd.

F&M finished off the day in style, adding a fourth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Dietrich-Peterson, Sanders, Perry, and Lang teamed up to clock a time of 7:05.03 and earn 52 points.

The Diplomats return to the pool tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. for prelims of the 200-yard IM, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard butterfly.
