Diplomats Perform Well at East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall competed at the All-America Meet hosted by East Stroudsburg University on Saturday, recording a number of high finishes, most notably Rebecca Swisher's victory in the pole vault.

Swisher posted the highest F&M finish of the day, clearing a height of 3.77 meters on her third attempt to win the pole vault. That height not only netted her gold in the event, but also tied the stadium record and broke her own meet record, previously 3.65 meters. The senior beat out 29 other competitors to win the event.

Morgan Gray had a fine day in the field as well, taking seventh in the triple jump. Her leap of 10.27 meters put her above 17 others in the 25-woman field.

Lindsey Powers led F&M in the throws, most notably in the shot put where her heave of 11.57 meters qualified her for 5th place in a field of 51.

Grace Adams led the Diplomat efforts on the track, clocking a time of 5:06.17 in the 1500 meters to take seventh out of 51. Her strong day continued in the 800, where she took 18th out of 77 with a time of 2:31.77.

Olivia Bendit turned in a quality performance in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 26.98 to earn 19th out of 70.

The Diplomats return to action on Thursday for the beginning of the Penn Relays.
