Ward Reaches Podium Twice on Day Two of CC Championships

CARLISLE, Pa. – Alyssa Ward recorded a pair of medal-winning performances on Saturday to lead Franklin & Marshall at day two of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships. Heading into day three the Diplomats stand in fifth place with 28 total points.

Ward's best performance came in the high jump, where she earned silver with a second-place finish. Her height of 1.59 meters (5'-2.5") not only tallied eight points for F&M, but also qualified her for ECAC competition.

The sophomore also reached the podium in the long jump, recording a mark of 5.16 meters (16'-11") to take third place and earn six more points, giving her 14 total points on the day. Just for good measure, her time of 16.33 in the 100-meter hurdles was the eighth fastest of the day and qualified her for tomorrow's finals.

Aleksandra Kiszka just missed qualifying for the 100-meter hurdles as her time of 17.28 was good for twelfth, but she will be in tomorrow's 400-meter hurdle finals. Her time of 1:09.70 qualified her eighth, earning her the chance at gold tomorrow. Kaitlin Muccio just missed the finals, clocking a time of 1:11.84 to finish 10th.

Action continues tomorrow as day three of the CC Championships begin at 11:00 a.m.
