CARLISLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall claimed two medals on the final day of the Centennial Conference Track and Field Championships, finishing the meet in eighth place with 45 points. Johns Hopkins took the team title with 219.75 points.
Morgan Gray reached the podium in her final CC Championships, taking third place in the triple jump. Her effort of 10.99 meters (36'-0.75") earned her a bronze medal and qualified her for ECAC competition in addition to tallying six points for the Diplomats.
Lindsey Powers equaled Gray's effort in the shot put, placing third with a heave of 11.96 meters (39'-3"). She also qualified for ECAC action as well as earning six points for F&M. She finished her day in the discus, finishing 11th in with an effort of 28.37 meters.
Aleksandra Kiszka also earned points for the Diplomats, taking sixth in the 400-meter hurdles as her time of 1:10.61 snagged three points for F&M. Alyssa Ward followed up her impressive Saturday by appearing in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles, where she took eighth. She earned another point for the effort, giving her a total of 15 on the weekend.
For those that qualified, the Diplomats return to action at the NCAA Championships later this month. The national competition runs from May 26-28 in Waverly, Iowa.
