Wylie Breaks 31-Year-Old Record at Blue Jay Tune Up

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Rachel Wylie broke the Franklin & Marshall school record in the 400-meter hurdles to highlight the Diplomat action at Elizabethtown's Blue Jay Tune Up. A limited crew of F&M athletes collected 27 points to take eighth out of 10 teams at the final competition before the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships next weekend.

Top Performances

-Wylie clocked a school-record time of 1:04.05 in the 400-meter hurdles to win the event by more than seven seconds. The previous record, a time of 1:04.21 set by Heidi Malles '86 in the spring of 1986, stood for more than 31 years before falling today by .16 of a second.

-Chelsea Frantz added an impressive performance of her own in the 800-meter run, taking second out of 19 with a time of 2:25.37. Grace Adams was next across the line for F&M, taking fifth in 2:28.54.

-Jasmin Wright recorded her best performance of the season in the javelin, recording a mark of 32.19 meters to take fourth out of 16 competitors.
