LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's track and field team is set for the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships, hosted by Ursinus. Competition begins Saturday morning and concludes on Sunday evening.
The Diplomats took home fourth last year, an improvement from the seventh-place finish the prior year, garnering 59 total points and six medals. Johns Hopkins took home the top title with 180 team points.
Alyssa Ward enters the championships highly favored in three events. The senior looks to repeat her triple jump title with the top distance of 10.86m. The senior is also favored in the high jump (first, 1.60m) after taking home the silver last year, and is third in the long jump (5.26m) as the bronze winner at last year's competition.
F&M's 4x400-meter relay, which won the silver medal last year, currently sits third (4:13.99), only 0:03 seconds behind the second-place seed.
Kaitlin Muccio looks to make a push to the podium in the 400-meter dash, currently seeded fifth with a time of 1:01.83.
Rachel Wylie currently sits in the eight-seed spot for the 800-meter run (2:25.61).
