F&M leads the all-time series with Johns Hopkins 35-33-2, with its last win in 2012. This upcoming matchup marks the ninth straight season that the Blue Jays are ranked during their Centennial Conference annual meeting.
The Last Meeting
No. 25 Johns Hopkins defeated Franklin & Marshall 42-12 in Centennial Conference (CC) football action on October 6, 2018 in Lancaster.

The Blue Jays jumped out to an early 21-0 lead midway through the second quarter and never looked back. F&M answered with a 13-play, 81-yard drive that took 4:55 off the clock late in the second quarter. Joe Hartley-Vittoria capped off the series with a three-yard spurt to make it 28-6 at the break.
Johns Hopkins scored 21 straight in the third quarter and took a 42-6 lead into the final period. The Diplomats tacked on one more score at the end of the game when Zachary Bross hauled in a pass from Jack Donaghy with six ticks on the clock for the 42-12 final.
Tanner Erisman completed 9-of-19 passes for 104 yards. Kevin Lammers hauled in three passes for 45 yards and Zachary Bross had 39 on four catches with one score. Joe Hartley-Vittoria rushed 11 times for 42 yards and one score.
Sebastian Silva-Muniz, Bobby McDevitt and Stephon Smith led the defense with six tackles each. Mekhi Holley, Dylan Jones, Marlen Fenstermacher, Dominic Bertone, and Matt Hamby all ended with tackles.
Last Game
Franklin & Marshall dropped to No. 7 Muhlenberg 49-6 in Centennial Conference (CC) football action Saturday afternoon at Shadek Stadium. The Diplomats fell to 3-2, 2-2 CC, while the Mules improved to 4-1, 3-1 CC.

Joe Hartley-Vittoria gained 35 yards on 16 carries to lead the Diplomats, while Garrett Perschy ran for 21 and the lone F&M touchdown. Perschy went 16-for-28 for 168 yards under center, while Jack Donaghy completed a 67-yard bomb to Walt Wynkoop for his only completion.
Thomas Downs led the defense with eight stops (four solo), including one for a loss. Nick Leone, Peyton Snopek, and Kevonte Beard all finished with five stops apiece.
What a Schedule
F&M will be thrilled to return home next weekend for Homecoming & Family Weekend, after facing a trio of nationally-ranked squads over their previous three games. The back-to-back-to-back of Susquehanna (No. 24), Muhlenberg (No. 7), and Johns Hopkins (No. 16) could be the toughest group of opponents over a three-week stretch that any team has seen in the entire nation this year. Thankfully for the Diplomats, they finish the season against teams that fall below them in the standings.

The special teams pairing of Kevin Lammers and Brendan Dearing keep climbing up the all-time Diplomat leaderboard for returns. Lammers sits 10th in school history in punt returns (61), just one punt return shy of eighth place, and only 19 return yards shy of fourth place in school history. Dearing, on the other hand, sits in a tie for seventh all-time with 35 kick returns, and eighth in kick return yards (726).
Scouting the Blue Jays
Fresh off a trip to the NCAA Division III Football Semifinals last season, perennial powerhouse Johns Hopkins is putting together another dominant season in 2019. Currently sitting at No. 18 in the AFCA Poll and No. 20 in the D3football.com Poll, the 4-1 Blue Jays have appeared in the AFCA Poll for 83 straight weeks.
The Diplomats are set to face one of the more decorated quarterbacks in Centennial history in David Tammaro, who is only the sixth CC quarterback to top 8,000 career passing yards, and the seventh to score 80+ touchdowns.
On the receiving end of Tammaro's throws are wideout tandem of Harrison Wellman and Ryan Hubley. Wellmann ranks in the top 50 nationally in all-purpose yards (15th with 164.6 ypg), receiving touchdowns (36th with 6), receiving yards per game (49th with 94.6 ypg) and touchdowns (48th with 7).
On the defensive end, the Diplomats need to account for defensive end Mike Kalanik, who recorded a career-high 12 tackles against Ursinus, with 2.5 of them for a loss. The senior leads the team with 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks.
