Kitchen Named DIII Defensive Player of the Week

First-year goalie Emily Kitchen was named the IWLCA/Lacrosse Sports Network Division III Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. Recap.

F&M moved up to No. 4 in the latest IWCLA Coaches poll. Gettysburg dropped from the top spot with Washington & Lee taking their place. Washington College (23) and Dickinson (25) round out the Centennial Conference (CC) schools.

F&M Last Week

The Diplomats went 2-0 last week, first downing Gettysburg by a 9-6 tally on Wednesday (Recap), and then defeating Bryn Mawr in a 16-0 shutout on Saturday (Recap).

Last Time We Met Ursinus

Grace Norley led with six goals and one assist while Paige Moriarty handed out seven assists and scored once. Hannah Serling had four goals with one assist, Megan Jackson found twine on three occasions and Clare Monaghan had two scores with one assist.

Jane Cote and Maddie Hughes both had a goal and an assist and Katie Groenke along with Bridget O'Donnell each scored once. Brianna Gorman and Caroline Kolva turned in an assist each.

Danielle Harrington turned away eight shots and collected three ground balls to pick up the win in net, while Anya Chopoorian and Ryann Laible both scooped up two ground balls. F&M outshot the Bears 31-19, held a 15-7 in ground balls, but draws belonged to Ursinus at 17-10.
