Wylie Finishes 19th at Nationals

GENEVA, Ohio – Franklin & Marshall's Rachel Wylie placed 19th in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday at the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute. She fell shy of the nine qualifying positions that advanced to Saturday's final.

The junior registered a time of 1:04.99 in the preliminaries to finish with the seventh-best time in her heat. Loras' Bella Solis paced the field with a 59.72 qualifying time. The winner from each of the event's three heats, as well as the next best six times, moved on to the Championship race.

Wylie's 1:02.57 finish during the preliminaries of the 400m Hurdles at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships, which she went on to win gold in, was good to place the junior 22nd in the nation and earn her spot in the NCAAs.
