LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's track and field team is set to host the two-day Centennial Conference (CC) Indoor Championships beginning Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
The Diplomats aim to climb up in the final rankings this year as F&M finished just one point behind sixth-place Muhlenberg at last year's Championships.
Championship History
Johns Hopkins holds the most titles (nine), followed by Dickinson with seven and Haverford with six. Swarthmore and Gettysburg have two each.
F&M has 27 gold medals, four of which came recently at the 2017-2018 championships.
Medal Hunt
Elizabeth O'Connell (2:26.73) looks to push for a medal and score points for the Diplomats in the women's 800- meter run as she enters the event seeded seventh.
First-year Glory Edioma will hunt for a medal in the 60 hurdles as her time of 9.98 currently ranks her sixth overall and close to top-three with only tenths of a second separating the times.
The F&M squad looks to move up in the relays as well, and are currently seeded fifth in the 4x400 relay and sixth in the distance medley relay. Sabrina Piccinini looks to gain ground in the pole vault as she enters with the 10th seed and a height of 2.59m.
