LANCASTER, Pa. -- Steven Yakita's second half brace helped Franklin & Marshall grab a 2-2 draw with No. 24 Swarthmore in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday evening. The Diplomats (10-2-1, 3-2-1 CC) overcame a two-goal deficit in the tie - their first of the season.

Despite dominating the first half in both shots (9-2) and corners (7-0), F&M found themselves on the wrong end of a halftime score, as Swarthmore's only shot on frame in the stanza found twine in the 22nd minute.

Shortly after halftime, the Garnet struck again for a 2-0 edge in the 48th minute.

But the Diplomats were resilient, creating waves of pressure that finally broke through in the 63rd minute. Dallen Moore lofted a high, looping cross towards the back post that Yakita teardropped over the keeper to slice the deficit in half.

Yakita answered the call again in the 81st minute, as Christian Avila Neres placed a cross from the left flank onto the senior forward's head to level things at 2-2.

Overtime was well balanced, with both sides putting shots on frame, but unable to find the equalizer. Sam Altman Farrell made two well positioned saves in the second round of overtime to preserve the tie.

F&M outshot Swarthmore 21-7, including a 10-5 edge in shots on goal. The Diplomats also held a massive lead in corner kicks, finishing with a 14-3 advantage.

Steven Yakita rang up eight shots to lead the Diplomats.

Sam Altman Farrell made three saves on the evening.

The Diplomats get back in action with a trip to Haverford on Wednesday evening to face the Fords.
