Lancaster, Pa. – The No. 16 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team registered twice as many shots as Gettysburg, but could not convert those opportunities into goals as the Diplomats fell to the Bullets by a 2-0 score. The Diplomats finished the Centennial Conference contest with 18 shot attempts, compared to just nine from the visitors.

Steven Yakita and A.J. Kopacz led the Diplomats in shots with four each. Christian Avila Neres also had an efficient showing, totaling three shots. The Diplomats finished the match with an 8-5 edge in shots on goal.

Both of Gettysburg's goals came during the half of action. The first goal came during the 52nd minute as Connor Fife headed home a corner kick off the insert from Connor O'Donnell. The insurance tally came with just under 10 minutes remaining in regulation as Aidan Giquinto took advantage of a turnover deep in the F&M third.

The Bullets did finish the match with a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. F&M goalie Sam Altman Farrell secured three saves throughout the contest, one in the first half and two in the second half.

Men's soccer will continue its homestand with two more home dates next week. The Diplomats welcome Lancaster Bible to Tylus Field for a 7 p.m. non-conference match on Wednesday, October 13 before a 6 p.m. conference tilt with Swarthmore as a part of the College's TrueBlue Weekend next Saturday.
