ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team had a very successful return to competition on Saturday as the Diplomats won five individual events and one relay at the Muhlenberg Invitational. This weekend's event was a tri-meet between the Diplomats, host Mules, and Ursinus. No team scores were kept during the season-opening event.
Abby Lienhard accounted for three of F&M's victories as she took home gold in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and long jump. Sydney Dzenutis won the 800-meter event by edging out of her own teammate in a 1-2 finish for the Diplomats. Dzenutis also ran the opening leg of the 4x400 winning relay along with teammates Alexis Salerno, June Sanchez, and Laura Greene. Franklin & Marshall additionally had the individual champion in the 5,000 meters with Grace Miske crossing the line in just over 19 minutes.
Top Performances
- Abby Lienhard won the 100 meters (13.48), 200 meters (27.83), and long jump (5.10m)
- Sydney Dzenutis (2:26.31) and Emma Kline (2:29.08) finished 1-2 in the 800 meters
- Grace Miske won the 5,000 meters (19:09.27) won the 5,000 meters as the Diplomats grabbed the top four spots in that event
- F&M won the 4x400 relay with Dzenutis, Salerno, June Sanchez, and Greene finishing a time of 4:18.36
- Laura Greene (4:53.32) and Alexis Salerno (4:54.17) highlighted F&M grabbing six of the top eight spots in the 1500 meters
- Glory Edioma (19.26; 100 hurdles) and Kate Henderson (13:37.53; steeplechase) both finished as runners-up in their events while Jillian Barger was second in the high jump (1.37m)
- Emma Steffan's third place finishes in shot put (10.08m) and discus (30.68m) highlighted the throwing events

Franklin & Marshall will host both Muhlenberg and McDaniel in a tri-meet that is set for Saturday, April 17. That will be the Diplomats' final competition before the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be held in the beginning of May.
