Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin and Marshall men's soccer team (7-1-2, 3-0-1 CC), who's receiving votes in the national rankings, earned a hard fought win over Centennial Conference foe Dickinson (6-5, 2-2 CC) 2-1 Saturday evening.
F&M struck first in the 15th minute on a strike from Oscar Howitz coming from just outside the box. The score is Horwitz' fifth of the season and the second in as many games. With his third assist of the fall, Philip Monos is tied with teammate Koa Kaliebe for the team-high in assists this season. It didn't take long for the Diplomats to build on the lead as Jordan Samuels netted a score in the 26th minute of the game. Shay Adamson sent a crossing pass from a corner kick across the field to Horwitz, who headed the ball towards the center of the box. Samuels headed the ball into the back of the net for his first career score.
Sam Farrell was excellent in net, making four saves and breaking up multiple scoring chances for the Red Devils.
F&M outshot Dickinson 14-9 in the contest, with Monos shooting a team-high five shot attempts in the game.
The Diplomats travel to face McDaniel in a CC match Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
