Lindvall Sets New PR in Steeplechase at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team competed at the Widener Last Chance Meet on Monday evening in search of personal bests. The Diplomats achieved that result in the steeplechase and nearly replicated it during the 1,500 meters. With inclement weather, each track event was cut down to just two heats.

Racing in the faster of the two heats, Freya Lindvall put up another personal best in the steeplechase as she finished in a time of 11:52.72, making her the second-quickest in that event in school history. She placed seventh overall on Monday evening. Elizabeth O'Connell competed in the 1,500 meter event where she took 14th with a time of 4:43.90 after setting a personal best in that event during the Centennial Conference Championships. O'Connell is currently ranked 79th nationally in that event.

The Diplomats will wrap up their last chance schedule of meets this Thursday, May 19 at MIT. That meet is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m.
