Box Score HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team has put together a schedule that will challenge them early and often throughout the 2022 regular season in hopes of another deep postseason run. The first of those nationally-ranked matches came on Sunday afternoon as the No. 19 Diplomats traveled to No. 25 Stevens. However, it was the Ducks who were able to use their home field advantage during a 3-0 result.
The two nationally-ranked teams went into the halftime break scoreless, but it was the Diplomats who held a 3-2 advantage in both shots and corner kicks. Both goalies were called on to make one stop during the opening 45 minutes, with Koa Kaliebe's run at goal denied during the 21st minute of match action.
All of Stevens' scoring came within a span of under 12 minutes during the second half as the Ducks scored three times between the 54th and 65th minutes of game action. Stevens finished the match with a 10-7 edge in shots after outshooting F&M 8-4 during the final 45 minutes.
Five different Diplomats recorded a shot during Sunday's non-conference match as Kaliebe (three shots) was the only player to register multiple attempts. Sam Farrell played the full 90 minutes in goal and made four saves during that time.
After spending the opening week of the season on the road, the Diplomats return to Tylus Field this Wednesday, September 7 for the team's first home date of the season. That match at 7 p.m. under the lights will be another tough battle as Kean is currently receiving votes in the national polls.
