Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (5-8, 2-6 CC) was dropped by Gettysburg (7-5, 4-3 CC), 68-50, in its Centennial Conference (CC) road game Thursday evening.
The Diplomats jumped out to an early five-point lead after a jumper from Ally Trebelev and a three-pointer from Lizzie Neville to start the game. After Kennedy Wilburn knocked down a pair of free throws to give F&M a 7-2 lead four minutes into the game, the Bullets responded with a 13-2 run to close out the quarter.
Gettysburg jumped out to a 31-24 lead entering the halftime break.
Trailing 38-32 with 5:34 remaining in the third quarter, Trebelev connected from beyond the arc to cut the deficit to three. However, the margin only grew for the visitors as Gettysburg outscored F&M 15-4 to take a 53-39 lead into the final quarter.
F&M struggled to make shots in the CC matchup as it hit just 29.5 percent from the field, while Gettysburg connected on 50 percent of its field goals.
Wilburn racked up a game-leading 16 points, while also tallying five rebounds and three steals. Neville recorded seven steals in the game, tying her for eighth-most in program history for a single game. The first-year guard also scored 14 points with two three-pointers in the contest.
Franklin & Marshall returns home to the Mayser Center Saturday to play McDaniel at 1:00 p.m.
