LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's indoor track & field team returned to action for the spring semester at the Coach I Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Abby Lienhard won both the 200 meter and long jump events to highlight numerous top five finishes and personal bests throughout the day for the Diplomats.
On the track, Lienhard won the 200 meter race in a time of 27.97 seconds. She additionally took fifth in the 60 meters as the school record holder in that event put down a time of 8.31 seconds. Lienhard's win in the field events came after her best long jump of the day was measured at 5.15 meters.
The Diplomats also had strong showing on the track in the mid-distance and distance events. Emma Kline (1:05.55) and Abby Bachman (1:06.86) both turned in top five performances during the 400 meter race. The distance events were highlighted by Lucy Olsen's third place finish in the 3,000 meter event (11:26.96).
Adding to F&M's success in the jumps were second and third place finishes in the triple jump from Allison Huelbig (9.31) and Amanda Imhauser (9.27m). Stephani Franks took fourth in the pole vault, clearing 2.73 meters. Jillian Barger's bronze medal performance in the weight (13.08 meters) highlighted the throwing team's efforts on Saturday.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action back inside the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center this coming Friday, January 27 for the Mini-Dip Invitational which is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
