GETTYSBURG, Pa. – In its final preparations before the 2023 Centennial Conference Championships, the Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team earned a 17th place team finish out of 28 teams at Gettysburg's Aubrey Shenk Invitational. The final race of the regular season featured a number of Division I and Division II teams in addition to the Division III competition.
Annalise Kauffman was the team's top finisher on Saturday, crossing the line with a time of 23:56.5 over the 6,000 meter course. That time was good for 44th overall as 244 runners entered Saturday's race. Fellow sophomore Anna Atticks just missed a top 100 finish with her time of 25:15.3. Julianne Cadden also broke the 26 minute mark with her time of 25:46.2 for the young squad, placing 123rd in the field.
Abby Bachman was the team's fourth finisher as her time of 26:35.7 was good for 156th, while teammate Hana Hyman was behind her in 174th place (27:27.0). Georgia Hodgson was the team's sixth runner as she crossed the line with a time of 27:54.8.
Up next for the Diplomats will be the aforementioned 2023 Centennial Conference Cross Country Championship. That championship event will be hosted by McDaniel. The men's race gets that day started at 11 a.m., with the women's 6,000 meter race set for a 12 p.m. noon start.
