Scott, Silverman All-CC Honors Lead Women's Cross Country to Fifth Place

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team placed fifth at the Centennial Conference Championship to match its best finish since the 2019 season on Saturday. The Diplomats bested regionally-ranked Haverford and came within two points of edging out another regionally-ranked opponent in Dickinson. On top of the team's success, Katie Scott and Tara Silverman were honored as All-Centennial Conference performers as they placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in the championship meet.

Scott and Silverman were among six Diplomats who earned a career best finish at Saturday's Centennial Conference Championship. Scott crossed the line in a time of 22:09.4 to place 11th in the field, while Silverman was just behind her in 12th with a time of 22:11.0. All-Centennial Conference accolades were presented to the top 14 finishers in the field.

Annalise Kauffman had her best finish at the conference's cross country championship as she placed 36th with a time of 23:371. Jordyn Collie (24:30.4) and Hana Hyman (24:43.6) additionally set new standards for their best placements as the team's final two scoring runners, with Hyman achieving a career best 8K time in the process.

Georgia Hodgson finished in 25:04.3 as her 59th place finish was her best ever at the conference championship. Anna Atticks was just two spots behind her teammate in her fourth conference championship. Competing in her first conference championship, first-year Sophia Bloom set a personal best 8K time of 25:55.5, while seniors Abby Bachman (26:24.5) and Lucy Olsen (26:29.8) registered strong finishes during their final cross country conference championship.

The Diplomats will now look to ride the momentum of today's success into the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday, November 15. That meet will be held in Newville, Pa. where spots to the NCAA Division III National Championships will be on the line for both the top team and individual finishers.
