NEWVILLE, Pa. – Tara Silverman and Katie Scott both ran to All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors as the Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team took 11th out of 35 teams at Saturday's race. The Diplomats finished just outside of the top 10 after scoring 274 points as a team.
The all-region honors were the first in the careers of both Silverman and Scott. Silverman was the team's top finisher as she placed 21st by covering the 6,000 meter course in a time of 22:30.4. Scott finished in the 24th position with his time of 22:35.2.
Senior Annalise Kauffman broke the 24 minute mark during the final cross country race of her decorated career with a time of 23:16.2. Kauffman was 41st in the field of 208 finishers. Jordyn Collie (24:56.2) and Hana Hyman (24:56.8) also finished among the top 100 runners, while Anna Atticks (25:36.7) and George Hodgson (25:39.7) were the team's sixth and seventh runners as each team was allowed seven entries to the regional championship.
With the conclusion of the cross country season, these Diplomats will now join the rest of their teammates on the track & field team as the indoor season opener is set for Friday, December 5 in the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
