LANCASTER, Pa. - Honoring its nine seniors before the game, the Franklin & Marshall Field Hockey team cruised past Haverford, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. It was the team's eighth straight win since starting 1-5.
In just the third minute of the tilt,
Keira Boensch buried a shot into the cage, being assisted by
Caitlin Hoover. Just moments later,
Darby Klopp scored off of a pass from
Alison McCarey to extend the Diplomat lead.
The contest remained 2-0 until the 42nd minute, in which an
Avery Niedland pass led to a goal for
Sophie Carroll.Â
With 55 seconds remaining,
Grace Fass scored one final time for F&M, with the assist coming from Klopp.
The scoreless effort was the seventh shutout of the season for the Diplomats and fifth in conference play. In net,
Meghan Dole made a pair of saves, following up on her 15-save performance against No. 18 Ursinus on Wednesday night.Â
F&M will now travel to Swarthmore to take on the Garnet on Wednesday, October 17 at 7 p.m.
