Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Falls to No. 24 Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Franklin & Marshall Field Hockey team had its eight-game winning streak broken with a 4-0 loss to Swarthmore on Wednesday night. It was also the first time the Diplomats allowed multiple goals since September 16.

Just prior to the end of the first half, the Garnet took a 1-0 lead after Katherine Kohn found the back of the cage.

Kohn then doubled the Swarthmore advantage with a second goal in the 36th minute.

In the fourth quarter, both Jackie Crawley and Sophia Hitchingham scored as the Garnet preserved a shutout on the night.

For the first time this season, F&M was held to without a shot on goal as Swarthmore outshot the Diplomats, 22-8. Meghan Dole made 10 saves on the night, marking her third performance of double-digit stops.

F&M returns to action on Wednesday, October 25 at 7 p.m. to host McDaniel at Tylus Field in the final home contest of the year.
