LANCASTER, Pa. - In its final home game of the regular season, the Franklin & Marshall Field Hockey team defeated McDaniel 5-0 behind multi-goal games from
Sophie Carroll and
Jessica Miller. With the win, head coach
Kaitlyn Eager reached 100 career wins, including 87 with F&M.
Amelia McCarthy opened up the scoring for the Diplomats with a goal in the seventh minute, before Carroll doubled the lead by finding the back of the cage in the 14th minute.
Miller then added a third score for F&M in the second quarter, as the Diplomats held the Green Terror to just one shot in the first half.
Less than four minutes into the second half, Carroll buried another shot into the net, and was followed up by another Miller goal just 30 seconds later.
Darby Klopp registered three assists on the night, marking a career high for the senior. Defensively, all three goalkeepers on F&M's roster saw time in net, and combined for the shutout.
The Diplomats will play their season finale on the road at Johns Hopkins on Saturday, October 28 at 12 p.m.
