CARLISLE, Pa. – The No. 5 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (12-1-2, 5-0-2 CC) claimed its fourth shutout-victory of the season as it took down Dickinson (7-5-2, 1-4-2 CC), 2-0, on the road in Wednesday evening's Centennial Conference (CC) contest.
The Diplomats wasted no time breaking into the scoring column as
Jack Baer buried his first-career goal on the game's first shot during the second minute of play.
Oscar Horwitz set up the play with a beautiful pass through the Red Devils' defense to connect with Baer in-stride for the seniors' second assist of the season and 17th point in his last four games. Picking up his 38th point of the season, Horwitz ties Ryan McGonigle '07 for the program single-season points record.
Franklin & Marshall netted an insurance goal off a set piece in the 83rd minute of play. After a foul on the Red Devils,
Koa Kaliebe sent a free kick into the box - finding
Owen Sobel to net an insurance goal for the Diplomats. The score was Sobel's second goal of the season, while Kaliebe earned his ninth assist of the fall. It is also Kaliebe's seventh assist in his last four games.
The Diplomats sent 11 shots with five attempts on net in the win with Horwitz registering five total shots in the game.
Nolan Booth kept Dickinson in check throughout the contest – saving all three shots he faced to claim his third shutout of the season and fifth clean sheet of his career.
