LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team wrapped up its season with a 17th place team finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on Saturday. The Diplomats set four personal bests amongst seven runners at the meet on their way to scoring 551 points in the 29 team field.

Katie Scott led the team as she just missed all-region honors during her rookie campaign with a 40th place individual finish. She posted a time of 22:40.0 during the 6,000 meter race to eclipse her previous best at this distance in college by nearly two minutes. Sophomore Annalise Kauffman placed 79th with a personal best of her own, crossing the line in 23:53.1.

Julianne Cadden, Anna Atticks, and Abby Bachman were all top five team scorers for the Diplomats. Cadden's time of 25:30.2 placed her 136th in the field. Atticks (26:00.4) and Bachman (26:02.9) finished in back-to-back positions – crossing the line in 150th and 151st place – respectively. First-years Hana Hyman and Georgia Hodgson both turned in personal bests during their regional championship debut. Hyman placed 156th in the field with a time of 26:07.5, while Hodgson's PR came at the 27:23.2 mark during a 179th place finish.

With the cross country season coming to a close on Saturday, the Diplomats will now take time to reset and turn their attention to the upcoming indoor track & field season. The season opener for the indoor track & field team is scheduled for Friday, December 8 when F&M hosts the Diplomat Open inside the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
