Men's Swimming Claims First Place at the F&M Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. - After recording a top-three finish in each of Sunday's seven events, the Franklin & Marshall Men's Swimming team finished in first place at the F&M Invitational. The Diplomats have now placed first in the last four editions of the F&M Invitational. 

One of his two top-three finishes on the night, Sean Conley came in third in the men's 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.89. Additionally, Conley won the 100-yard IM with a time of 52.85, beating out second place by 0.02 seconds. 

In the 100-yard freestyle, Matthew Hurford and John Devaney tied for second, each finishing with a time of 46.09. Additionally, Brady Saunders placed second in the 'C' final with a time of 47.65. 

The Diplomats saw success in each of the finals in the 200-yard breaststroke, with Patrick Rooney coming in third in the 'A' final with a time of 2:07.87. While Luke Circus finished in second in the 'B' final, Noah Drexler and Jarrett Driever post first and third place finishes in the 'C' final, respectively. 

Similarly, Evan Willertz came in second in the 'A' final of the 200-yard butterfly, while Tim Turnbull placed third in the 'B' final and Ethan Ferriss finished in second in the 'C' final. 

Closing out the individual races, Matthew Tilghman placed third in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:29.66. 

Devaney, Ben Lockey, Hurford and Sam Kamdin ended the night with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay to push F&M team total to 1,636.5 points.

Following a two-week break, F&M will return to action on Saturday, December 2 at 1 p.m. with a home dual meet against McDaniel.
