Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (8-11, 5-9 CC) came up short in its Centennial Conference game against Gettysburg (13-6, 10-4 CC), 51-41, Wednesday evening at the Mayser Center. The Bullets outscored the Diplomats 17-7 in the fourth quarter to come away with the win.
The Diplomats held the early edge as they led for most of the first half. Leading 17-14 with 4:41 remaining in the second quarter, F&M created separation on the scoreboard as Natalie Kolb knocked down a pair of free throws. Kolb then scored the next two points a couple possessions later as she connected from mid-range to push the Diplomats' lead to 21-14. Hope Schreiber hit a free throw to give F&M an eight-point advantage for its biggest lead of the game.
Gettysburg chipped away at the deficit as F&M took a 24-22 lead into the halftime break.
Both teams played solid in the third quarter as both squads matched buckets throughout the period. F&M shot 38.5 percent from the field in the third, with Quinn Galligan leading the way with four points in the frame. The Bullets made a layup with seconds on the clock to send the game to the fourth quarter tied up at 34-all.
Gettysburg jumped out to a 38-34 lead before Jaclyn Feit knocked down a jumper at the 5:55 mark to get the Diplomats within two. However, the Bullets outscored F&M 13-7 from that point to close out the contest.
Kolb led the Diplomats in scoring with 14 points, while nabbing six rebounds in the game. Feit tallied 10 points, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots. Her five blocks tied her for tenth in the program record books for a single game. Ally Trebelev corralled a career-high 12 rebounds in the game.
