LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's indoor track & field team had a number of new entries into the program's all-time top 10 list on Friday at the Blue & White Invitational. The Diplomats posted five personal bests that now rank in the top 10 in school history and had several others that just missed record-breaking times.
The most decorated athlete on the day was certainly Abby Lienhard as she won the long jump with a leap of 5.29 meters in an event where she already holds the school record. Lienhard just missed breaking her own school record in the 60 meter dash as she finished just one-hundredth of a second off her record time in 8.23 seconds. During that same event, Hope Petralia became the second-fastest individual in school history (8.29). Lienhard also moved up to second in school history in the 200 meters (26.75), posting a runner-up finish on Friday.
The jumps were certainly an overall strength for F&M as Allison Huelbig's day was highlighted by a runner-up finish in the high jump where she cleared 1.50 meters to become the fifth-best performer in school history. Huelbig also marked at 4.47 meters in the long jump event that was captured by Lienhard. Huelbig concluded her day with a third top 10 finish by claiming fourth in the triple jump (9.84m). She was joined in the top 10 of that event by teammates Amanda Imhauser (9.17m) and Lena Bell (8.75m). Stephani Franks posted a fourth place finish in the pole vault, clearing 2.88 meters.
Franklin & Marshall finished second in a pair of events on the track. Valerie Fieberg (3:13.92) and Emma Kline (3:14.00) posted the fifth and sixth fastest times in school history in the 1,000 meters, taking home respective second and third place showings in that event. Kline would go on to add a runner-up finish of her own in the 800 meters (2:25.16) where teammates Sydney Dzenutis (2:28.58), Annalise Kauffman (2:29.03), Abby Bachman (2:32.63), and Alysse Danyi (2:33.94) were also amongst the top 10 finishers. Bachman, Danyi, Fieberg, and Kauffman capped the meet by teaming up to take third in the 4x400 relay (4:24.95).
Women's indoor track & field will wrap up its regular season schedule on Friday, February 17 during the Kutztown Last Chance Qualifier. That will be the Diplomats' final meet before they host the Centennial Conference Championships during the final weekend in February.
