Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (9-16, 6-14 CC) was defeated on the road against McDaniel (9-16, 7-13 CC), 74-51, in the Diplomats' final regular season game Saturday afternoon. The Green Terror pieced together a very efficient scoring performance, shooting 54.4 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from beyond the arc to down the Diplomats.
F&M got off to a hot start in the first quarter as it jumped out to an early 8-5 lead after Lizzie Neville connected on two three-pointers on consecutive possessions. McDaniel answered with a layup, but Jaclyn Feit came right back to score the Diplomats next four points and gave F&M a 12-7 advantage with 4:35 remaining in the opening quarter.
McDaniel chipped away at the deficit and reclaimed the lead, 14-12, at the 1:50 mark of the frame. Neville knocked down her third triple of the game to give the Diplomats a 15-14 lead at the end of one quarter.
The teams traded buckets to start the second quarter as Hope Schreiber went 2-for-2 at the charity stripe to hold F&M's lead at 17-16. However, that would be the last time the Diplomats led in the contest as McDaniel closed the quarter on a 14-6 run – giving the Green Terror a 30-23 lead at the halftime break.
Franklin & Marshall as a team shot 33.3 percent from the field and 35 percent from behind the three-point line in the game.
Neville led the Diplomats in scoring with 18 points while connecting on 5-of-6 three-point attempts. Feit also finished with double-digit scoring figures as she ended the game with 10 points, while also grabbing eight rebounds and blocking three shots.
As the team's only senior, Natalie Kolb finishes her F&M career averaging over nine points and two steals per game while also playing an average of 30 minutes per contest.
Franklin & Marshall concludes the 2022-23 campaign with a 9-16 overall record and 6-14 record against Centennial Conference opponents.
