COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's indoor track & field team headed to Ursinus for its first road meet of the season on Saturday. The Diplomats came away with seven scoring performances during the road competition, highlighted by Abby Lienhard's second place showing in the long jump.
Lienhard's best leap of 5.30 meters in the long jump was one of two scoring performances for the senior who also qualified to the finals of the 60 meter dash where she finished eighth overall. Allison Huelbig had another strong day for the jumpers as she was ninth in the triple jump (9.67m), and 12th in both the high (1.42m) and long (4.46m) jumps. Stephani Franks added points to the team scoring during the pole vault where she placed seventh after clearing 2.90 meters.
Franklin & Marshall also had a top five finish to close the meet from the 4x400 meter relay where the team of Lucy Olsen, Emma Kline, Annalise Kauffman, and Kate Henderson got the baton across the line in 4:33.19. In addition to their exploits on the relay, Kline add a ninth-place finish in the mile (5:34.70), while Henderson (11:32.52 in 3,000 meters) and Kauffman (2:33.11 in 800 meters) paced F&M during their individual events.
On top of Lienhard qualifying to the finals in the sprints, Glory Edioma advanced to the finals of the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.25 seconds in the preliminaries before claiming eighth in the finals. Hope Petralia also picked up points for the Diplomats in the 200 meters following her seventh place finish with a time of 27.94 seconds.
Women's track & field will be back at home inside the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center this coming Friday, February 10 for the Blue & White Invitational that is set to begin at 2 p.m.
