MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Abby Lienhard (long jump) and Jillian Barger (hammer) both posted the top marks in the Centennial Conference this year to highlight a strong performance from the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team at the 40th annual Millersville Metrics Meet. As a team, the Diplomats scored 19 points to tie for 11th in the field consisting of Division II and III opponents.
Lienhard placed second in the long jump with a mark of 5.29 meters to assume her spot at the top of the Centennial Conference's performance list. However, her day was far from done as she posted the third-fastest 100 meter dash time (12.80 seconds) in school history and the ninth-fastest 200 meter dash (26.89 seconds) time at F&M. Her 100 meter time currently ranks her fourth in the conference. Also in the 100 meters, Tatum Evans crossed the line in a time of 13.15 seconds for the sixth-fastest time in school history. Evans also had a top-10 time at F&M in the 400 meter hurdles (1:09.36) and currently ranks third in the conference this season for that event.
Jillian Barger further strengthened her position at No. 2 on the all-time F&M performance list in the hammer with a new personal best of 44.41 meters on Saturday afternoon. That mark placed her eighth in Saturday's field in addition to her spot atop her Centennial Conference peers. Also in the throws, Rachel Caruso's mark of 29.70 meters in the javelin is now the seventh-ranked mark in the conference this season. Allison Huelbig additionally registered seventh place marks in the conference this year in the high jump (1.45m) and triple jump (9.72m). Her new high jump PR is the eighth-best at Franklin & Marshall all-time.
There were also a number of other individuals who made their mark on the Centennial Conference performance list with strong showings on Saturday. Sydney Dzenutis placed fifth in the 400 meter race with a time of 1:00.79, moving up to third in the conference this season. Emma Kline was ninth in the 1,500 meter event (4:57.60), crossing the line with the seventh-best time in the conference so far this spring.
Women's track & field returns to action next weekend for the two-day Stockton Osprey Open which begins on Friday, April 7 and continue through Saturday, April 8.
