COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team broke the school record in the 4x100 relay and had two more All-Centennial Conference performances to conclude the 2023 Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships. The Diplomats finished the meet with 40 points to place seventh as a team.
The Diplomats' record in the 4x100 came during a fifth place finish as Tatum Evans, Hope Petralia, Glory Edioma, and Abby Lienhard got the baton around the track in 49.31 seconds. F&M was also seventh in the 4x400 relay (4:11.30) with the team of Evans, Lienhard, Annalise Kauffman, and Sydney Dzenutis.
Many of those relay legs were also standouts during their own individual races on the track. Dzenutis took silver to earn second-team All-Centennial Conference honors in the 800 meters with the fourth-best time in school history (2:14.06). That time currently ranks 28th in all of Division III this season. Evans earned honorable mention All-CC accolades during her PR in the 400 meter hurdles where her bronze medal time (1:07.27) puts her fifth in the F&M record books. After qualifying to the finals on Saturday, Lienhard placed seventh in the 100 meter dash (12.85) while Edioma took eighth in the 100 hurdles (18.68).
Franklin & Marshall had a pair of top 10 performances in school history during the triple jump as Allison Huelbig (9.98m) and Amanda Imhauser (9.55) registered the respective seventh and 10th best marks in school history. Rachel Caruso just missed scoring points during her ninth place performance in the javelin with her best mark of 33.54 meters.
With the conclusion of the Centennial Conference Championships, the Diplomats will next compete in last chance meets during the upcoming weeks in hope of qualifying individuals to the NCAA Division III National Championships at the end of the month.
