LANCASTER, Pa. – First-year Katie Scott led the Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team with a sixth-place individual finish at the Little Three Meet on Thursday evening. The Diplomats served as the hosts of the meet held at Baker Campus, with F&M taking third in the team standings during the rivalry race with Dickinson and Gettysburg.
Scott's time of 19:55.12 broke the 20 minute mark and placed her sixth in the field of 35 runners. Teammate Annalise Kauffman was the second Diplomat across the line as she finished with a mark of 20:37.03.
Six different Diplomats competed on the young team. The team's lone senior, Julianne Cadden, led the final group to the finish with her time of 22:09.81. The final four finishers for F&M all came in during the span of a minute with sophomores Anna Atticks (22:19.54), Abby Bachman (22:38.28), and Lucy Olsen (23:07.57) also competing for the Diplomats.
Women's cross country will now have just over two weeks before heading to Lehigh on Saturday, September 30 for the prestigious Paul Short Run. The 2023 Paul Short Run will mark the 49th time the event has been held at Lehigh. The meet annually attracts some of the top teams across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III.
