LANCASTER, Pa. – Starting off the season on its home course against local foe Millersville, the Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team was led by first-year Katie Scott at Saturday's F&M Open. All eight Diplomats on the young squad competed in the season's first race.
Scott finished 11th overall with a time of 22:16. Sophomore teammate Annalise Kauffman also broke the 23 minute mark during a 13th place showing. Julianne Cadden (23:02) and Anna Atticks (23:15) both placed among the top 20 runners in the field of 31 entrants.
Abby Bachman was the team's fifth finisher in a time of 23:45. Georgia Hodgson clocked in with a time of 24:10 during her first collegiate race, with sophomore Lucy Olsen (24:23) and first-year Hana Hyman (25:08) also competing for Franklin & Marshall.
Women's cross country will be back at Baker Campus for its second consecutive home meet this coming Friday when the Diplomats host the Little Three Invitational against Dickinson and Gettysburg. That race is set to get underway at 6 p.m.
