UNION, N.J. – The ninth-ranked Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (5-1-1, 0-0-1 CC) suffered its first loss of the season on the road at Kean (5-0-3), 1-0, in Wednesday evening's non-conference game. The Diplomats outshot the Cougars, 14-12, in the match. However, Kean found the back of the net for the game-winner in the 80th minute of the contest to upset F&M.
Franklin & Marshall racked up 10 total shots in the first half, but Kean's defense adjusted well at the halftime break- allowing just four total shots in the final 45 minutes. F&M had 11 shots on goal in the game with four coming from
Koa Kaliebe.
Connor Anderko,
Oscar Horwitz, and
Sean Lipschutz each tallied two shots on goal in the loss.
In the program record books, the Diplomats' six-game unbeaten streak was the longest to open a season since F&M's 10-game unbeaten streak to start the 2018 campaign.
No. 9 Franklin & Marshall looks to bounce back on Saturday as the Diplomats return to Tylus Field to host Swarthmore at 6:00 p.m.
