Women's Basketball Dropped By McDaniel

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (7-6, 2-6 CC) saw its four-game winning streak end in Thursday evening's, 53-39, loss against Centennial Conference (CC) foe McDaniel (10-3, 5-3 CC).

Lizzie Neville converted baskets on consecutive possessions to start the game and put F&M ahead, 4-0. From that point, the Diplomats' offensive attack went ice cold as McDaniel took control of the lead with 10-unanswered points. A jumper from Quinn Galligan cut the deficit to four, but the Green Terror added five more points to close the quarter with a 15-6 lead.

Trailing 20-10 with under six minutes to play in the second quarter, Galligan knocked down a jumper to cut the deficit to single digits. Ally Trebelev connected from mid-range to make it a six-point game with 4:29 remaining in the half. However, McDaniel scored seven-straight points to take a 27-14 advantage into the halftime break.

Franklin & Marshall continued to battle in the second half as a three-pointer from Galligan and a layup from Jaclyn Feit kept the Diplomats within 12. Despite the spurts of scoring, McDaniel's lead only grew as the Green Terror led by 20 entering the final frame.

Trebelev tallied her sixth-straight game with double-digit scoring figures as she led the Diplomats with 12 points. She also went a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line in the game. F&M as a team shot 12-for-15 (80 percent) from the charity stripe in the contest. On the defensive end, Neville and Kayla McCrea each swiped a team-high three steals in the effort.

Franklin & Marshall looks to bounce back on Saturday when it hosts Swarthmore at 1:00 p.m. inside the Mayser Center.
