Women's Basketball Eases Past Bryn Mawr on the Road, 72-32

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (9-9, 4-9 CC) completed its season-series sweep over Bryn Mawr (2-15, 0-13 CC), 72-32, in Thursday evening's Centennial Conference (CC) contest. F&M earned its ninth victory of the season in dominate fashion as the visitors showcased a shooting percentage of 41.4 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. The Diplomats were solid on defense as well – holding Bryn Mawr to just 23.1 percent from the field and forcing 28 turnovers in the game.

F&M jumped in front of Bryn Mawr early with seven-straight points to begin the contest. The Owls knocked down a pair at the free throw line to get into the scoring column, but the Diplomats responded with jumpers from Jaclyn Feit and Kayla McCrea to extend the lead to 11-2. Lizzie Neville continued the stretch by draining a three-pointer at the 3:21 mark to push the Diplomat lead to 12. The Owls added two more at the charity stripe, but F&M chipped-in three points to close the first quarter with a 17-4 advantage.

Neville continued her scoring spree in the second quarter by pumping in F&M's first five points of the frame. F&M held a 30-15 lead over the Owls with 3:39 remaining in the half when the Diplomats tallied seven-unanswered points to take a 37-15 advantage into halftime.

Franklin & Marshall picked up where it left off as the Diplomats knocked down 12-straight points in the first four minutes of the second half to take a 49-15 lead. Gia Sioutis made a layup in the final minute to put F&M ahead, 58-23, to close out the third quarter. The Diplomats shot 50 percent from the field with a three-pointer from Feit to lock down the lead entering the final stanza.

The 40-point difference is Franklin & Marshall's largest margin of victory over an opponent since December of 2021 when the F&M defeated Bryn Mawr, 69-29.

Neville led the game with a season-best 17 points, while shooting an efficient 6-for-10 from the field and 4-for-6 from beyond the arc. Neville also led the Diplomats in steals with three in the game. Feit followed with 15 points and five rebounds in the contest. As a team, F&M swiped 13 steals with nine different Diplomats contributing to the total.

Franklin & Marshall continues its stretch of road games when it travels to play Ursinus on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
