ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (7-5, 2-5 CC) saw its winning streak extend to four as the Diplomats took down Muhlenberg (8-5, 3-5 CC), 60-56, in Tuesday morning's Centennial Conference (CC) contest.
The teams traded the lead multiple times throughout the game, leading to an exciting finish with under three minutes remaining in regulation and tied at 56-all.
Jaclyn Feit corralled a loose ball under the basket and laid it in to give F&M a lead with 1:41 on the clock. From that point, the Diplomats shut Muhlenberg down on defense – denying the Mules from scoring on four-straight offensive possessions to win the game.
Trailing 13-11 five minutes into the first quarter, F&M began a 9-0 stretch that was started by a layup from
Kayla McCrea.
Quinn Galligan and
Gia Sioutis drained three-pointers on consecutive possessions to put the Diplomats ahead 19-13. After

Franklin & Marshall started the second quarter by extending its lead to 24-17 after Neville made jumpers on back-to-back possessions. Muhlenberg responded by scoring seven-unanswered points to tie the game at 24-all with 5:49 left in the frame. With the score tied at 28-all and under two minutes in the half, Neville and Galligan each connected from inside the arc to give F&M a 32-28 lead entering halftime.
F&M continued to build momentum to start the second half as McCrea knocked down a jumper and
Ally Trebelev made a layup to push the lead to 36-28. However, the Mules began a 13-4 run to take a 41-40 advantage with 4:34 remaining in the quarter. The Diplomats battled back by outscoring the Mules, 8-6, to end the quarter with five of those points coming from Trebelev. The junior worked her way to the charity stripe right before time expired and knocked down a free throw to put F&M ahead, 48-47, entering the final quarter.
As a team, Franklin & Marshall shot 39 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc in the win.
Neville ended the game with a season-high 16 points, while shooting 58.3 percent from the field. Neville also dished out a team-leading four assists in the win. Trebelev recorded her fifth-straight game with double-digit scoring figures as she tallied 15 points with three three-pointers in the contest.
The current four-game winning streak is the longest for the Diplomats since the 2019-20 season, where F&M won five games in a row. Franklin & Marshall will look to match that streak when it hosts McDaniel Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
