No. 23 Men's Soccer Draws with No. 6 Dickinson, 2-2

LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 23 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (7-1-7, 5-1-1 CC) ended a back-and-forth battle with No. 6 Dickinson (7-1-7, 5-1-1 CC) in a 2-2 tie in Wednesday evening's Centennial Conference (CC) game at Tylus Field. The Red Devils led twice in the contest, but the Diplomats always had a response as both teams scored once in each half – handing F&M its seventh tie of the season.

Dickinson jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage with a goal in the fifth minute of the match. F&M didn't waste any time on offense as the Diplomats pushed the ball down the field in the 16th minute with Adam Green firing a shot that was saved by the Red Devils' goalkeeper. However, the rebound kicked out to Koa Kaliebe to score his team-leading seventh goal of the season. Green was also credited with his team-best fifth assist of the year on the play.

With Dickinson holding a 10-9 shot advantage after 45 minutes, the game entered halftime with the score tied up at 1-1.

Dickinson once again put pressure on the Diplomats by scoring in the 55th minute to retake the lead, 2-1. F&M came right back in the 64th minute as Nico Gonzalez sent an entry pass into the box for Oscar Horwitz. Horwitz tapped the ball back to Green, who blasted his fourth goal of the season into the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2. Gonzalez and Horwitz were also each credited with their first assist of the year on the score.

Dickinson had an opportunity to notch a game-winner during the 85th minute of play, as a turnover in the Diplomats' end led to a shot with the goalkeeper out of position. The Red Devils took a shot at the open net, but Connor Anderko jumped in front of the shot to head it over the crossbar for the defensive save – keeping the game tied at 2-2.

Franklin & Marshall held the slight edge in both total shot attempts, 20-19, and shots on goal, 9-8, in the contest. Green led the game with five total shots, followed by Jack Borden and Thomas Kaplan each recording three in the match. In net, goalkeeper Nolan Booth made five saves in the draw.

No. 23 Franklin & Marshall now travels to Gettysburg on Saturday to play the Bullets, starting at 7:00 p.m.
