Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 23 Men's Soccer Downs Gettysburg, 4-2

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The No. 23 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (8-1-7, 6-1-1 CC) scored three times in the second half to cruise past Gettysburg (4-6-5, 1-5-2 CC), 4-2, in Saturday evening's Centennial Conference (CC) game. With the win, F&M has now locked-up a top-two seed in the upcoming CC Tournament.

F&M got the scoring started in the 29th minute with Connor Anderko controlling the loose ball in the box and firing his second goal of the season into the bottom-right corner of the net. The Bullets responded swiftly with a goal of their own in the 36th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

Franklin & Marshall outshot Gettysburg, 7-3, in the first 45 minutes of the contest.

The Diplomats regained the lead immediately out of halftime as Jack Nury weaved through the Gettysburg defense and blasted his first goal of the year into the net during the 49th minute. F&M kept the pressure on by creating a turnover and immediately setting up another attack. A hand ball in the Bullets' box set up Adam Green to fire a penalty kick into the bottom-right corner of the net for his third goal in as many games – extending the Diplomats' lead to 3-1.

Gettysburg cut the margin to one with a score in the 52nd minute, but F&M went right back to work on offense. In the 62nd minute, Kole Wintersteen sent a sinking shot that escaped the reach of the Bullets' goalkeeper and hit the back of the net for the first-year's second goal of the season.

In the game, Franklin & Marshall outshot Gettysburg, 15-4, with eight of the 15 shots being on net. Green tallied a game-leading three shots with Anderko, Nury and Wintersteen each recording two in the victory.

No. 23 Franklin & Marshall returns to Tylus Field to host Washington College in the final game of the regular season on Saturday, starting at 6:00 p.m.
