LANCASTER, Pa. – The No. 11 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (6-0-5, 4-0-0 CC) rallied with three-unanswered goals to defeat McDaniel (5-4-1, 2-2 CC), 3-1, in Saturday afternoon's Centennial Conference (CC) match at Tylus Field.
McDaniel got the scoring started in the 10th minute off a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead. Eight minutes later,
Jordan Samuels fired a free kick into the box and
Jack Borden deflected it past the visitors' goalkeeper for the equalizer. The goal was Borden's second goal of the season, while Samuels was credited with his first assist of the year on the play.
F&M gained the lead in the 50th minute as
Nathan Schlessinger connected with
Koa Kaliebe, who rocketed his shot past the goalkeeper for his fourth-career game-winning goal.
The Diplomats capped their scoring in the 84th minute as Schlessinger sent a crossing pass into the box. The ball was headed towards the middle of the field by
Adam Green and was sent to the back of the net by Kaliebe for his second goal of the game and his fourth goal of the season.
F&M outshot McDaniel, 19-4, in the match with Borden and Kaliebe each registering five shot attempts.
No. 11 Franklin & Marshall now hits the road to play its final non-conference game of the regular season against Lebanon Valley on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
